Piers, a Shropshire-born lad, acquired a love of drawing and painting in early childhood. After formal art training Piers travelled and painted extensively in Europe and Africa before settling in his adopted North Yorkshire in 1975. His home in Wensleydale, standing at a vantage point 1000 feet above sea level and facing directly onto Addlebrough, a flat topped hill rising out of the glacial landscape, affords amazing panoramic vistas. This inspirational hillside location, with its unbeatable views across Upper Wensleydale with the winding River Ure below, has been a major influence upon Piers’ life and work.
