Lambing chairs were thought to be used by shepherds in lambing sheds to oversee their flock  during the night as they lambed. Traditionally made with three legs to enable them to stand on uneven ground and the little drawer maybe for the orphan lamb but more likely to be used for the shepherds tobacco tin and useful shepherding objects!

Designed by Arthur Gibson at Little Quebb Farm in Herefordshire

Little Quebb is known throughout the area for the excellently-crafted lambing chairs. Arthur is an engineer who left the city to take up a more rustic lifestyle.
