Shane was born in Somerset and spent the early part of his working life specialising in furniture-making in London and Europe. He then diversified into the more detailed area of Celtic Art, producing beautifully painted Mandalas and jewellery.
His interest in metal came to the fore, and Shane now owns and runs a bronze foundry in Somerset and sculpts his own work in bronze. He specialises in patinised bronzes of nature-based subjects for galleries across the UK and America, and also produces private bronze commissions for a wide range of artists.
He originally worked in graphic design where his interest in ornament was fostered.
