Summer Exhibition “Images and Reflections” opens on Sunday July 5 2015 and will feature a collection of collectable artists and makers, some new to the gallery.
This exhibition promises, once again, to inspire and excite collectors and appreciators of fine art and quality craft.
Textile artist Sue Williams who graduated from Herefordshire College of Art in 2001
with BA (Hons) in Design Crafts will be showing a collection of her latest textile collage paintings.
Landscapes are her inspiration, for this exhibition she has focused on Herefordshire, where light and colour evoke their unique atmosphere. Mountains, seascapes, vistas, of places she has travelled all inspire her. The nature of the terrain, from soft undulating hills in subtle tones and hues, to rugged scenes bathed in dramatic light.
New to the gallery is artist Caroline McLachlan who went to The Laird School of Art in Birkenhead.
She paints outside ‘en plein air,’ and applies the finishing touches in her studio. She paints in various media including watercolours, oils and acrylics, and mixed media.
She has painted an exciting collection of Shropshire landscapes and Pembrokeshire seascapes.
Potter Arwyn Jones works in what may be considered a traditional way, using the wheel to produce sound functional forms. His over riding intention is for the resulting wares to be undeniably functional and a pleasure to use.
Also new to the gallery will be Adrian Guest with his latest collection of stoneware garden sculptures to include a Hereford bull and sheep.
Finally we will have a new collection of jewellery from Hereford based Rozie Keogh, whose pieces are just perfect for those summer weddings and garden parties!
Our aim from the beginning has been to promote the work of British contemporary talented artists and makers, some already well known in their field and many talented new comers. Now in our 26th year, this continues as strongly as ever.
The exhibition will continue until the end of August 2015
