Alena makes jewellery from hand-dyed plastic. She aims to create something beautiful from this ordinary material and give it a new sense of worth. The items have a precious quality and glow with colour because of the translucency of the material.
She hand-dye’s the plastic into rich colours and combines it with textured silver fragments. The two materials contrast and compliment each other perfectly. Each piece is designed by her and made entirely by hand.
