Syrah trained at Duncan of Jordonstone college of art and design in printed textiles. After graduating she spent time developing her skills in textiles and crafts by participating in workshops, volunteering and completing a residency for Angus council education department.
She opened her business in 2007, with a range of handmade felted jewellery and accessorises, combining traditional wet felting , needle felting and sewing techniques. Syrah sells her designs up and down the U.K. through a number of galleries and boutiques and seasonal craft events.
Along with selling her own work she also teaches a variety of art and craft skills from felting, sewing, jewellery making, paper crafts and printmaking and is available for talks , demonstrations as well as workshops.
