Lorenzo had a traditional fine art education in his native Lombardy (Italy) where he worked in illustration, portraiture and design for the textile industry.
After a long gap dedicated to music, gardening and woodwork, he returned to painting while settling in the Herefordshire countryside .
The early passions for the art of the Renaissance and the European avant-garde of the twentieth century, remain constant sources of formal and conceptual instigations on the various paths of his image-making journey, while the fondness for his adoptive rural surroundings, developed over three decades, has inevitably become one of the main motives of his
visual quest. A progressing series of portraits of rusty old sheds and barns engaged with the dynamic elements of the landscape, runs alongside many more disparate subjects, manly from imagination and usually rendered in acrylic paint on canvas.
